Mountain guide overlooking vast Canadian wilderness

Our Beginning

Tundra Peak was founded in 2009 by a small group of mountain guides who shared a common frustration: too many tour companies treated Canada's wilderness as a commodity rather than a treasure.

We started with three guides, two vehicles, and an unwavering commitment to doing things differently. Our first season, we led just forty-seven travelers into the backcountry. Each one left with stories they still tell today.

Word spread. Not through advertising, but through the genuine excitement of travelers who had experienced something real. Within three years, we had expanded to cover destinations across western Canada and into the northern territories.

What Sets Us Apart

Small group hiking through mountain meadow

Small Group Philosophy

We cap every expedition at twelve participants. This ensures personalized attention, minimal environmental impact, and the flexibility to adapt to conditions and opportunities as they arise.

Pristine wilderness landscape untouched by development

Sustainable Practices

Leave no trace is not just a slogan for us. We partner with conservation organizations, offset our carbon footprint, and contribute directly to wilderness preservation in every region we operate.

Expert guide demonstrating wilderness skills

Expert Guides

Every guide on our team holds wilderness first responder certification and has spent years working in their specific territories. They are naturalists, storytellers, and safety specialists rolled into one.

Our Approach

We believe the best travel experiences happen when structure meets spontaneity. Our itineraries provide a reliable framework, but our guides have the freedom and expertise to seize unexpected opportunities.

A bear sighting near the trail might mean an extended wildlife observation session. Perfect weather could transform a scheduled rest day into an impromptu summit attempt. These moments cannot be scripted, but they can be facilitated by guides who know the land intimately.

Our accommodations range from comfortable wilderness lodges to carefully selected campsite locations. We never sacrifice safety or basic comfort, but we also never let luxury become a barrier to authentic wilderness immersion.

Meals are prepared using local ingredients whenever possible. Our camp cooks have earned reputations for creating memorable dining experiences in the most unlikely settings. A freshly grilled salmon dinner at a remote lakeside campsite is not just fuel for the next day—it becomes part of the adventure itself.
